How to run your Heat Pump efficiently…
New Zealanders tend to flash heat and cool their homes. The best way to run your Heat Pump is to use the timer and program it to turn on an hour or so before you get up in the morning and again before you get home in the evening. This will help keep running costs down as most of the energy is used bringing the room to temperature – once it has reached temperature, the unit will ramp right down and this is when it’s at its most efficient!
HotChilly suggest setting your Heat Pump between 19° and 22° for a comfortable room temperature - this may vary according to the season. Turning your Heat Pump right up to 30° will NOT heat your home efficiently, as it is unlikely to reach this temperature. It will only cause the unit to over work and could cost you more to run.
