Over the past 7 years HotChilly's relationship with TelstraClear (TCL) has grown from installing and maintaining 14 units in the core network and telehousing sites, to responsibility for in excess of 55 units in nine key Wellington sites.

Accurate air conditioning, temperature and humidity control are crucial to the long-term survival of TCL's core network and power supply plant. Air conditioning must be installed and maintained at N+1 availability in all equipment rooms to ensure unit diversity. The temperature of the DC plant and UPS batteries must be kept consistent at set temperature levels 24/7. Any failure could cause premature battery replacement at a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars and equipment replacement in the realm of millions.
